George Green’s School Newsletter
George Green’s School has forwarded a copy of their latest Newsletter which features an article on the Honorary Historian’s Essay Prize which was awarded by the Prime Warden, Admiral Sir George Zambellas GCB DSC DL, at the Installation Court on 14 April 2025. The Honorary Historian’s Essay Competition is an annual essay competition which is open to the London Nautical School and George Green’s School in two separate year groups: Year 10 and Year 12. The competition was established by Court Assistant Emeritus Mr Sean Gay when he was Honorary Historian, and he very generously continues to fund the prizes of £250 each!
At the ceremony the new Honorary Historian, Court Assistant Mr Mike Kelleher, spoke about the 2025 Honorary Historian’s Essay Competition, the second to be held, before the Prime Warden presented certificates to the winners who were accompanied by their parents and a representative from each school’s teaching staff:
- Winner Year 10 prize – Muslimah Mirzababaeva, George Green’s School.
- Winner Year 12 prize – Diego Grateron Sangines, London Nautical School.
Certificates of Commendation were awarded to the runners-up in each category, and were collected from the Prime Warden by a member of staff from George Green’s School:
- Year 10 – Sara Kamaran, George Green’s School.
- Year 10 – Enny Mohammed, George Green’s School.
- Year 12 – Tabitha Burden, George Green’s School.
- Year 12 – Rayhan Hussain, George Green’s School.
- Year 12 – Emily Yu, George Green’s School.
