Visit to the City of London Sea Cadets – Tuesday 5 April 2022

The Prime Warden, Mr Richard Close-Smith TD, and the Clerk visited the City of London Sea Cadet Corps on HMS BELFAST on Tuesday 5 April 2022.  The unit is extremely fortunate to have such a prestigious address as a result of an historic arrangement between the Imperial War Museum and the Marine Society and Sea Cadets made many years ago by Rear Admiral Sir Morgan Morgan Giles DSO, OBE, GM who was himself Prime Warden of the Shipwrights’ Company in 1987.

The Prime Warden took the salute at Colours before inspecting the Divisions on parade and watching a lesson on knots.  The attached photographs give a flavour of the evening and the Shipwrights’ Company is extremely grateful to the Officer Commanding, Sub-Lieutenant (SCC) Ben MacDonald, the Chairman, Captain John-L David and the President, Lord Mountevans and all of those involved in the visit.
