Thanks from the Clergy Support Trust

The Shipwrights’ Company makes an annual donation to The Clergy Support Trust, formerly known as The Corporation of the Sons of the Clergy.  The Clergy Support Trust is a leading grant-making charity, and one of the oldest and largest Church of England charities, helping Anglican clergy and their families in times of need.  It was founded in 1655 in response to the desperate plight of clergy who had suffered under Cromwell. The Shipwrights support is in response to both its Christian ethics and its commitment to City institutions.  It rebranded in 2019 to become the Clergy Support Trust and provides financial, physical, and mental health support to serving and retired Anglican clergy and their families.

Katie Harding, the Clergy Support Trust’s Fundraising Manager, sent the following message: “We are extremely grateful to the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights for its generous donation of £200 last year. Please find attached our latest impact report, which highlights the difference your support has made to clergy households facing financial hardship, ill health, and other challenges. Your generosity is helping us provide vital assistance to those who dedicate their lives to serving their communities.”
