SHIPWRIGHTS’ LECTURES – WEDNESDAY 19 OCTOBER 2022

The 2022 Annual Shipwrights’ Lectures will be held on Wednesday 19 October 2022 at the MAST Mayflower Studios, Southampton.  2021 saw the Lectures move to their new venue in Southampton City Centre and, despite a reduced post Covid attendance the very favourable feedback indicated the event to be widely regarded as one of the best!

The Lectures programme is designed to inspire and motivate young people engaged in the UK’s £3 billion international position in the super yacht, yacht and boat design and building industry. This year’s Lectures are, as always, free of charge and open to all students at colleges and universities, apprentices and young boatbuilders. College tutors and apprentice managers are encouraged and welcome to attend.  Further details will be distributed when online registration is scheduled to open later this month.

A full house is anticipated after the enforced layoff so early registration is recommended.

In the meantime SAVE THE DATE ! – 19 October 2022

Pendennis Shipyard are the new sponsors of the Shipwrights’ Annual Lectures.

Following the generous sponsorship of BMT, it is with great pleasure that we can now announce that Pendennis Shipyard have joined us as the Lead Sponsor for the next three years.

The Shipwrights’ Company extends its grateful thanks to Pendennis who have been a staunch supporter of the Company’s philanthropic endeavours, not only of the Annual Lectures since its inception in 2011 but also of the Queens Silver Medal Award by sponsoring and supporting the participation of several of their apprentices each year.

The Lectures Team are already working hard on finalising the Lectures programme and are delighted to have Manley Hopkinson FRSA, FRGS, founder of The Compassionate Leadership Academy  kindly returning as the Inspirational Speaker.

The Mast Studio Café will be open for drinks and snacks from 13.00 and the first Lecture will commence at 14.00.
