News from the QE2 Activity Centre on the River Hamble

The Company has received the following news and thanks from the QE2 Activity Centre:

During 2021 the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights generously agreed to grant £1,500 towards the purchase of a wheelchair accessible motorboat for QE2 Activity Centre. Due to lockdowns and supply chain issues the boat was delivered quite a lot later than intended, but we have it now and it is proving very popular.

We are having a naming ceremony for the boat on Tuesday 22nd of February and I would like to invite representatives of the Worshipful Company to attend.  The boat is to be named Peter Gardiner after the disabled son of the founder of the Centre, who died of Covid on 22nd February 2021.

The Shipwrights’ Company is delighted to see the Peter Gardiner afloat and a representative from the Education and Charity Committee will attend the naming ceremony.
