Carmens’ Company’s Classic Car Club Drive – 28 May 2022
Liveryman Alan Cartwright and his wife, Beth, represented the Shipwrights, at the Carmen’s Classic Car Club drive to Portsmouth, on Saturday 28 May 2022. Alan writes:
It was a tremendously enjoyable event, which we would recommend to everyone (whether or not they have a ‘classic’ car – there were a number of ‘modern’ cars who joined in, just for the fun of it.
Carol Cordrey had organised a lovely drive down from the RAC’s country home at Woodcote Park to Old Portsmouth, passing along country B roads and lanes, through Surrey, Sussex (briefly) and Hampshire. The driving instructions were easy to follow and the destination venue (Ye Spotted Dogge – a fascinating 15th Century private inn, in Old Portsmouth) a wonderful and historical place for a sumptuous buffet lunch.
