In October 2021 the Education and Charity committee awarded £1,700 to Portsmouth Sail Training Trust towards the cost of training two young people from deprived areas gain qualifications that will enable them to start careers in the maritime industry. The Trust’s thank you letter can be found here.

The Prime Warden, Mr R H Close-Smith TD, accompanied his wife, Essex, represented the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights at the annual Act of Remembrance at the Merchant Navy Memorial on Trinity Square on Sunday 14 November. The Prime Warden and Essex are pictured below with the Mayor of Tower Hamlets.

Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy has launched a Newsletter directed at friends of BBA which can be read here.  In October 2020 the Shipwrights’ Company donated £5000 to assist with the rebuild of the mezzanine and conversion work described in the Newsletter.
